The year is almost over, and it’s time to think about how you’re going to start off 2020.

Lawyer James Gray Robinson wrote earlier this year, “If we were honest with ourselves, we would admit that New Year’s resolutions are rarely successful. That is because we hope to change something about our lives that we don’t like.”

But there are ways to bring in the new year and be successful. Are you looking to finally pay off your law school debt? Or maybe get a mentor or become a mentor? Doing more pro bono could also be a great way to develop some new skills and feel good about your work.

This week, we’d like to ask: What resolutions do you have planned for 2020? Are they focused on career goals? Personal goals? Or a combination? Do you even make resolutions, or do you forgo the tradition altogether? Do you have any tips for those who do make goals?

“I mean, technically I do….but I work from home. I wouldn’t decorate if I didn’t still have a kid at home.”
